By virtue of the authority vested in me by the act of May 22, 1947, entitled "An Act to Provide for Assistance to Greece and Turkey," the Civil Service Act (22 Stat. 403), and section 1753 of the Revised Statutes, and as President of the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows: 1. Upon the request of the Secretary of State or his duly authorized representative, and with the consent of the employee and of the head of the department or agency concerned, any civilian employee of a department or agency in the Executive branch of the Federal Government who is serving under an appointment not limited to one year or less may be transferred to the American Mission for Aid to Greece or to the American Mission for Aid to Turkey. 2. The provisions of Executive Order No. 9721 of May 10, 1946, and regulations prescribed by the Civil Service Commission pursuant thereto, with respect to the transfer of personnel from the Executive branch of the Federal Government to public international organizations in which the United States Government participates, shall be applicable to the transfer of personnel under this order to the American Mission for Aid to Greece and the American Mission for Aid to Turkey.
