By virtue of the authority vested in me by sections 177 and 179 of the Revised Statutes of the United States (U.S.C., title 5, secs. 4 and 6), it is hereby ordered as follows: In case of the absence or sickness of the Secretary of Treasury and the Under Secretary of the Treasury, the Fiscal Assistant Secretary of the Treasury shall perform the duties of the Secretary of the Treasury until such absence or sickness shall cease. In case of the absence or sickness of the Secretary of the Treasury, the Under Secretary of the Treasury, and the Fiscal Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, the senior Assistant Secretary of the Treasury on duty shall perform the duties of the Secretary of the Treasury until such absence or sickness shall cease. In case of the absence or sickness of the Secretary of the Treasury, the Under Secretary of the Treasury, the Fiscal Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, and the other Assistant Secretaries of the Treasury, the General Counsel for the Department of the Treasury shall perform the duties of the Secretary of the Treasury until such absence or sickness shall cease.
