By virtue of and pursuant to the authority vested in me by the provisions of paragraph Eighth of subdivision SECOND of section 2 of the Civil Service Act of January 16, 1883 (22 Stat. 403, 404), it is hereby ordered that Mrs. Ina E. Swartz may be appointed to a clerical position in the Department of Agriculture without compliance with the requirements of the civil-service rules. Mrs. Swartz is the widow of Rexford K. Swartz, who served for 22 years in the Department of Agriculture. This order is recommended by the Secretary of Agriculture. FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT The White House, July 15, 1935.
