By virtue of the authority vested in me by sections 4561 and 9561 of title 10 of the United States Code and section 301 of title 3 of the United States Code, and as President of the United States, it is ordered as follows: SEC. 1. The Secretary of Defense is hereby designated and empowered to exercise, without the approval, ratification, or other action of the President, the authority conferred upon the President by subsection (a) of section 4561, and subsection (a) of section 9561, of title 10 of the United States Code to prescribe the components, and the quantities thereof, of the Army and Air Force rations. SEC. 2. Under regulations of the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of the Air Force are authorized, for their respective services, to prescribe the issue of special allowances and such special or supplemental rations, defined by component, quantity, or monetary value, as they may consider appropriate. SEC. 3. The following Executive orders are hereby revoked: (1) Executive Order No. 5952 of November 23, 1932. (2) Executive Order No. 7500 of December 3, 1936. (3) Executive Order No. 8333 of January 25, 1940. (4) Executive Order No. 10545 of July 15, 1954. (5) Executive Order No. 11032 of June 19, 1962. SEC. 4. This order shall be effective July 1, 1967.
