By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 5785 (b) of title 10 of the United States Code, it is ordered as follows: The second sentence of section 5762 (a) of title 10 of the United States Code, relating to the method of determining the number of officers that may be recommended by the Secretary of the Navy for promotion to the grade of captain or commander in certain Corps of the Navy, is hereby suspended until June 30, 1957, to the extent that it relates to the number of officers that may be recommended for promotion to the grade of captain in the Civil Engineer Corps.
